ST-200
The ST-200 power conditioner is engineered to supply clean and stable electrical power to High-End and Hi-Fi AV equipment. The purpose of the device is to eliminate unwanted noise and interference that degrades audio and video quality, helping to achieve the best possible performance from an audio setup.
The small power conditioner was designed as the perfect complement for those who already own and use a larger ST series power conditioner and want to supply isolated power to additional devices. It can easily power devices such as streamers, CD players, LP players, TVs, small digital amplifiers, and others, if they do not exceed the total load of 200 W. It is an ideal solution for anyone who needs additional, isolated power for secondary equipment without the complexity or expense of upgrading to a larger power conditioner. This makes ST-200 a particularly valid cost-effective option for audiophiles or home theatre enthusiasts looking to extend their existing setup.
In this complementary role, the ST-200 also offers a secondary transformer option specifically designed for devices that use switched-mode power supplies (SMPS). The SMPS technology can have a negative effect on the resulting sound quality under certain circumstances, especially if a device with an SMPS is connected to the same transformer as regular analogue devices. This can introduce electrical distortions into the power supply that will be audible to the listener. The ST-200 addresses the issue by providing a dedicated and isolated power source, ensuring that devices connected to it are fully isolated from all other devices connected to the primary power conditioner, preserving the purity of their power supply.
At the heart of the power conditioner is a custom-designed toroidal transformer (230 VAC /230 VAC), developed by Audes, which provides isolation from the domestic electrical network. The toroidal transformer inside the unit was designed to filter noise from the mains utilising controlled leakage inductance and capacitance, ensuring that any unwanted noise leaking into a home’s network is effectively suppressed.
The device is protected against overcurrent by a fuse. If overcurrent occurs, the fuse will blow, and it will need to be replaced before the power conditioner can be used again. Additionally, the transformer includes thermal protection, which switches it off if the temperature of the transformer reaches 90 °C. Once the temperature drops to 75 °C the device will reconnect to the electrical network automatically.
Whether you are looking to complement another ST series power conditioner or simply have no need for anything more powerful, the ST-200 offers a simple, affordable yet highly effective solution. It provides a reliable way to ensure clean, stable power for smaller devices in your system, making it an excellent choice for those seeking quality power conditioning without the need for an overly complicated or costly setup.
All units of the ST-200 come supplied with a standard power cable inside the package. For further performance improvement, it is recommended to combine the power conditioner with the specially designed Audes Power Cable C13 .
